How a Father-Daughter Team Created Denver’s Most Trusted Home Service Company
When Maddy Fauth and her father, Marcus, founded Great Guys Heating in 2018, they brought something different to Denver’s home service industry: a genuine commitment to doing right by their customers, no matter what. After transitioning from careers in healthcare and cannabis, this father-daughter team discovered their true calling was helping Denver families feel safe and comfortable in their homes.
“We built this business on four simple values,” says Maddy Fauth, co-founder of Great Guys Heating. “Trust, integrity, community, and kindness. Everything we do comes back to those pillars.”
What started as an HVAC company has grown into a full-service home solutions provider, adding electrical services in 2021 and plumbing in 2022. But what truly sets Great Guys apart isn’t their expanding service menu; it’s their unwavering commitment to education and empowerment for both their customers and their team.
The Win-Win-Win Philosophy
Great Guys operates on what they call a “win-win-win” philosophy: every interaction should benefit the technician, the client, and the company or community. This isn’t just corporate speak; it’s a fundamental business approach that shapes how they handle everything from pricing to problem-solving.
“We’re not here to make a quick buck,” Fauth explains. “We’re here to build long-term relationships with our customers and our community.”
This philosophy shows up in practical ways. Great Guys technicians are empowered to make decisions on the spot, and leadership stays directly involved when customers have concerns. Rather than focusing on short-term profits, they prioritize consumer education, helping customers understand their home systems and make informed decisions.

Stories That Define Their Mission
Sometimes a single story captures everything a business stands for. For Great Guys, one such story involved a retired woman who had endured an unimaginable situation.
“She had a fire in her home, and she had hired a contractor who came in, turned off the water, pulled down all the drywall, started doing the remediation, and they skipped town,” Maddy recalls, the frustration still evident in her voice. “This woman was on a limited income, and she ended up living in a tent in her backyard for almost a year before winter was coming.”
Great Guys stepped in with a new contractor to help put her house back together at a discounted rate. “That’s the opportunity we have to make a difference in somebody’s life. Nobody anticipates some of the things that can happen with homes.”
Then there are the stories that remind you why technical expertise matters, and sometimes make you laugh. Like the case of the mysterious bathtub shocks.
“We had gotten a call, and the complaint was, ‘Every time I get into the bathtub, I get shocked.'” Maddy laughs. “Us in the office, we’re like, ‘how does that even make sense?’ So we kind of chuckled when we first got the work order.”
But when they tested it? “Sure as all get out, we turned on the water, put one of our leads in the water, and put one on the tub, and it was about 36 volts coming through the bathtub. It was pretty wild.”
Growing Without Losing Heart
As Great Guys has experienced rapid growth, maintaining their service quality and company culture has become increasingly important. The company invests heavily in team training, including leadership development and conflict resolution skills, not just technical expertise.
One of their biggest challenges? Finding qualified, experienced technicians in a tight labor market. It’s a problem facing the entire trades industry, but Great Guys approaches it by balancing experienced hires with comprehensive training for newcomers to the field.
“There’s a national shortage of skilled trades workers,” Fauth notes. “We’re doing our part by not just hiring experienced people, but also investing in training the next generation.”
More Than Just Service Calls
What makes Great Guys truly local is their deep integration into the Denver community. They’re not just another service company; they’re neighbors helping neighbors. The company regularly explores opportunities to support other local businesses and strengthen community connections.
Their approach to regular maintenance education helps customers understand the importance of caring for their home systems before problems arise. This proactive approach often saves customers money and prevents emergencies.
Looking Ahead
As Great Guys continues to grow their team to serve more Denver-area customers, their mission remains unchanged: providing trustworthy, high-quality home services while maintaining that personal touch that makes them special.
“At the end of the day, we’re not just fixing HVAC systems or electrical problems,” Fauth reflects. “We’re making sure families are comfortable and safe in their homes. That’s what drives us every single day.”
For Denver residents looking for a home service company that truly lives up to its name, Great Guys Heating proves that good guys don’t always finish last; sometimes, they build thriving businesses that make their entire community better.
